Giving to NAMI: Donations vs. Membership

Donations to NAMI are not the same as membership in NAMI CCNS.

Most people choose to do both. There is a difference.

MEMBERSHIP DUES:

NAMI CCNS is a membership organization. You belong to NAMI CCNS once you have paid your membership. Membership dues are modest. These dues give you the right to vote for our board members and officers, and allow you to receive mailings, notices and information from our state and national offices.

Each membership payment you make is divided into three parts: NAMI CCNS, NAMI Illinois, and NAMI National. Of the modest dues you pay –  only about 1/3 stays with NAMI CCNS.  You do however, significantly help NAMI on all levels. Your membership means a lot to show our people-power in educational and advocacy efforts. There is power in numbers.

Individual/Household membership – $35.00
Open Door membership – $5.00
Professional membership – $50.00

DONATIONS:

This is the fun part! After you’ve made sure you’re a member, the sky’s the limit! Give $10 over your membership, or $10,000!  And the best part?  Donations stay entirely within our local organization, specifically helping our local communities.
If you have enough, do give at the State (NAMI IL) and National levels (NAMI) too.

Your donated monies allow us to:

1. implement key school programs for students and teachers,
2. support our powerful caregiver classes,
3. give presentations on mental illness to community organizations and facilities
4. maintain support groups for caregivers and those struggling with mental illness
5. publicize our services in hospitals, clinics and therapeutic offices
6. pay for continued certification and training of our many many volunteers
7. provide social events at our unique monthly gatherings for young adults with mental illness
8. offer professional inservices to mental health practitioners on the family experience
9. hold open public education series throughout the year
10. and much much more.
