In reply to <a href="https://www.namiccns.org/kate-spade-suicide-net-worth/#comment-58">Mark</a>.

I appreciate your opinions, as the writer of this article. This article, too, is an opinion and not a fact and every situation is "case by case". Not all suicides are selfish, but sometimes meant to end pain. Take for instance the multitude of NFL players that have committed suicide. It's tragic! They were never thinking with a clear mind. Their brains had been destroyed!

In the case of someone whose of "sound mind and body", however, the pain is simply transferred to those who love the one that commits the act. That needs to be kept in mind by anyone thinking of the act. No matter how tough it is today, there's always someone that loves you...

I was once friends with a man that had a large family... his wife, two girls and a military family. I was part of that military family. We got word early on a Saturday morning while lingering in the hangar before formation, that our military brother had committed suicide the night before. It killed us! His daughters are now about 18 & 20 years old. All of this occurred because he was slapped with a divorce the day before. I've personally been faced with similar situations and I always come out on the side of, "Who am I to even think about taking away my children's Father!?" It'd be my own, personal, moment of ultimate selfishness. Do I love them? Do I love myself? Yes and yes! Therefore, my own thoughts of ending my life have no place "in my life". Again, I appreciate your comment and opinion! Hopefully you understand mine.
