We’re excited to announce that Family Insight has a new home! 

We’d love to invite you to join us on Wednesday, October 7th for our next Family Insight Evening — which will be held at its new location, Turning Point, located at 8324 Skokie Blvd in Skokie. 

This program provides opportunities to:

• learn and practice skills to deal more effectively with ill family members
• meet others who understand
• share insights in a structured environment

The group will be led by NAMI CCNS Family-to-Family teachers and is open to adults who have participated in NAMI Family-to-Family or NAMI Family Support Groups.

Speakers:

Joe Serio –
Joe has 30 years in the field, he completed his graduate work in both mental health counseling and in developmental psychology at Northern Illinois University. Joe is the Chief Clinical Quality and Compliance Officer at Compass. Joe is trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in addition to DBT, CBT and exposure therapy. Joe worked in community mental health and inpatient before joining Compass in 2018. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Joe is a long-standing advocate for LGBTQ rights and ensuring LGBTQ+ patients receive and have easy access to the highest quality mental health care.

Stephanie Simpson –
Stephanie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has worked in mental health for over 20 years, specializing in working with adolescents and young adults. She currently functions as the Associate Director of the Young Adult Program at Compass’s Northbrook location and has worked at Compass for 9 years. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Miami University, and went on to obtain her master’s in social work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Stephanie has extensive training in various clinical settings that include community mental health, inpatient hospital care, and private practice.

Parking and Entrance: Parking for Turning Point is accessible via Washington Avenue. All attendees should enter through the main entrance located off the parking lot. Please note that entrances along Skokie Boulevard are locked and not monitored.
