Mental Health First Aid

Supporting young people starts with knowing what to look for and how to respond. Youth Mental Health First Aid equips trusted adults with the skills and confidence to support adolescents experiencing mental health challenges or crisis.

Youth Mental Health First Aid teaches participants how to recognize and respond to signs of mental health challenges, substance use concerns, or crisis in adolescents ages 12–18. The program is designed primarily for adults who regularly interact with young people, including parents, educators, and community members. NAMI Cook County North Suburban staff are certified to deliver this course through funding provided by the Josselyn Center.
